Rather than watch the beginning of the end with the inauguration of the orange man, I chose to ignore that and replaced the wheel bearings and idler arm on the S10.
I was going to just press new bearing races into the old rotors, but new rotors were only $26 more with races already in them and my old rotors were pretty beat, so new rotors were an obvious choice.
Now the truck is no longer dangerous with bad bearings, and the steering is surprisingly improved with the new idler arm. A lot less wandering on the road than it did before and the steering is more direct.

You should’ve gotten the rotors with thew black coating to stop the rust :)

I have mixed feelings about this kind of hub setup. One one hand, it’s annoying to have to re-pack and re-tighten bearings at each brake job. But on the other hand, it is kind of nice to freshen things up on a regular basis.
